Township General Authority to explore water mandates

Four years ago, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors approved
the creation of a legally separate entity, the Cranberry Township GeneralAuthority, or CTGA, to more efficiently provide certain services that the
Township government itself was restrained from doing, such as stormwatermanagement and multi-municipal sanitary sewer issues.  At its April 5 meeting, the Board took the
next step and authorized CTGA to explore its potential role in satisfying the growingbody of state and federal mandates which apply to those operations.  It then allocated up to $100,000 to cover the
costs of providing whatever services the Authority determined were required.
