Cranberry’s annual fire hydrant and distribution system flushing program gets underway on Mon., June 18, and continues for ten weeks. It is a routine maintenance operation designed to flush sediment from the water system, check fire hydrant operation, and test chlorine levels in the water lines throughout the Township. Flushing is conducted Mon. - Fri. between 7 am and 4:00 pm. Discolored water and fluctuations in water pressure are normal during flushing. Refrain from doing laundry when your neighborhood lines are being flushed. i

With Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game just a week away, Cranberry Township author and journalist Frank Garland will discuss his experiences researching and writing about two Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Fame baseball players, Willie Stargell and Joseph Floyd “Arky” Vaughan. Both are ranked among the top performers ever to wear a Pirates uniform, with Stargell leading the team to a 1979 World Series championship and Vaughan carrying the Pirates to the brink of the 1938 National League pennant, only to see his team turned away in the waning days of the season by one of the most famous home runs in the history of baseball.

Out of Sight Shredding is a social enterprise of the Blind Association of Butler and Armstrong Counties and provides unique employment and job training opportunities to blind and visually impaired individuals. Out of Sight Shredding is certified and insured (NAID AAA Certified) and provides document destruction services throughout western Pennsylvania. Shredded paper will be recycled!
