Hopes for getting a half-mile trail segment linking Powell Road to the playing fields of Graham Park built this summer experienced a temporarily setback when the sole contractor to bid on the project came in with a quote well above the project’s estimated costs. Project backlogs resulting from rain earlier in the season were blamed for the low contractor interest. At its meeting on July 30, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors formally moved to reject the bid and authorized staff to rebid the project using a revised scope of work with a view to being able to award the contract on September 3.
