A public hearing on the Township’s own permit applications for expanding its wastewater treatment plant at 2306 Powell Road was held at the September 23 Board of Supervisors meeting. Testimony was solicited on plans to expand the current facility’s maximum flow capacity from 4.5 million gallons per day to 8.73 million gallons and add membrane filtration technology. The $42 million project is expected to take 2 1/2 years without ever disrupting the plant’s ongoing operations. Following the hearing, Supervisors agreed to issue the necessary permits, allowing the project to advance.
