Taming traffic has long been a Township priority.
At the September 29 meeting, the Board of Supervisors gave approval to apply for four grants aimed at keeping traffic flowing along the busiest corridors.
Three grants come via separate requests to the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission's Regional Traffic Signal Program. The funding would be used for re-timing projects on Route 19, Route 228/Freedom Road Corridor, and Rochester Road.
The Board also approved a submission for a PennDOT Traffic Signal Technology Grant to upgrade controllers at six intersections along Route 19.
