A series of changes in the timing and sequence of traffic signals at thirty intersections in Cranberry Township, Marshall Township, Seven Fields Borough, Adams Township along the Rt. 19 and Rt. 228 corridors will take place the week of, April 5.
Eight of those intersections will experience changes in their signal sequences. Timing changes, which were last made in 2009, reflect the results of a detailed study last year funded by the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission which examined the Township’s rapidly-evolving traffic patterns. They are designed to increase the number of vehicles which will be able to clear the affected intersections during a signal cycle. Because the changes will introduce new and unfamiliar sequences of traffic movement, the Township will be using a variety of communication methods to alert drivers to pay close attention and observe the new patterns.
