An update to the Township’s Comprehensive Plan aims to advance diversity initiatives and continue creating a welcoming community.
At the May 25 Board of Supervisors meeting, a public hearing on the proposed update to the Cranberry Township Comprehensive Plan was held. The plan, created in 2009 and updated in 2016, outlines long-range strategies for Township initiatives and interests.
The proposed update to the Inclusion and Diversity section continues Cranberry’s goal of being a welcoming community.
The update was created through extensive planning and conversation with residents and community planning partners who worked to identify sustainable diversified strategies.
The planning sessions produced several recommendations, including the creation of an Inclusion, Diversity, Equity Advisory (IDEA) Team focused on advancing the community’s recognition of the value of diversity and offering support to the Township’s diversity efforts.
The Board will consider adopting the resolution during the June 1 meeting.
