Cranberry Township’s phone system handles more than 20,000 calls a month and is struggling to keep up with a growing staff and the increased volume of calls, voice mail, and related messaging. Accordingly, at the Board of Supervisors’ June 30 meeting, two purchase authorizations totaling $200,000 were approved for the purchase of a new system along with the software to drive it. The cost of the replacement system will be significantly reduced by the Township’s participation in the Pennsylvania Educational Purchasing Program, Cranberry Information Technology Director Adam Osterrieder explained.
