Allow the 'Retire Old Glory' program to respectfully dispose of your worn-out American flag.
Cranberry was the first community to join the program, and in the past four years, it's expanded to 13 locations. More than 11,000 unserviceable, tattered, torn and faded flags have been retired.
The flags that are collected are retired in a dignified and respectful manner by members of the Boy Scouts of America, the American Legion, the Girls Scouts, the VFW and other select service groups. The Retire Your Old Glory flag collection program was started by Denise Etter, a Township resident, who recognized the need for a convenient place for residents to properly dispose of old, tattered and faded flags.
The project also accepts cemetery flags and larger, outdoor flags.
