Testimony concerning the transfer of the liquor license from a restaurant in Cabot to the Shop ‘n Save supermarket on Freedom Road was held at the May 25 meeting of Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors. State law requires local governments of destination communities to agree that an inter-municipal liquor license transfer will not adversely affect its public health, welfare, peace or morals. The sale of alcoholic beverages is already permitted in the SP-1 zoning district where the store is located. At its meeting, the Board agreed to consider adopting a resolution to approve the transfer at its June 1 meeting.
