[ARCHIVED] Let's give ourselves a little credit

Cranberry Township’s municipal credit rating is calculated by various companies, including Moody’s Investor Services, which awarded it their prestigious Aa1 rating several years ago.  Only 9 out of 2,562 municipalities in Pennsylvania share that high a rating.  What it means is that it’s easier and cheaper for the Township to borrow money for capital projects.

Cranberry’s residents are also highly regarded by credit institutions, giving them access to more borrowing possibilities.  LendEDU – an online marketplace for student loan refinancing – has just released a study that ranks 1,000 Pennsylvania communities according to the average personal VantageScore credit ratings of their residents.

Cranberry came in 41st with a solid score of 754 out of a theoretical 850, considered to be a good rating and placing the Township among the state’s most financially secure communities.
