The 34.3-acre Meeder property, at the corner of Rt. 19 and Rochester Road, is about to become a major mixed-use development. A grading application from the developer, approved by Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors at its August 2 meeting, will give Charter Homes – the project’s developer – an opportunity to install the plan’s roads before the area’s asphalt plant closes for the season this fall. Having roadway pavement in place prior to winter will make Phase I construction on the site cleaner and avoid unnecessary delay. However, the grading permit is for earthmoving only; it does not allow for the installation of any sewer, water or any other utility lines until the project receives final approval.
