The Township’s contract with its municipal waste collector, Vogel Disposal, provides for periodic rate increases. In addition, the rates need to fund the replacement of household trash carts, many of which have been in service since 2004. At its October 29 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors approved a schedule of price adjustments which would increase monthly garbage cart rates by either 50¢ or $1.50, depending on the size of the cart, beginning in January 2016. Recycling and yard waste carts would remain free of charge. Homes with more than one trash cart will pay an extra 30¢ a month for each additional cart, regardless of its capacity.
