At its April 27 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors accepted public comments on a bill that would amend the Township’s zoning ordinance to further restrict the areas in which communication towers would be permitted. Currently, churches and schools within residential districts are exempt from the restriction; the proposed revisions would eliminate that exemption. The purpose of the change is to protect residents from tall tower structures being built adjacent to their neighborhoods. Following the hearing, the Board agreed to give final consideration to the code update at its June 1 meeting.
