The new Element Hotel – a boutique hospitality line of the Starwood hotel group – which is being jointly constructed with a Cracker Barrel restaurant on the site of the former Echo Restaurant on Longtree Way, has found a way of adding two more guest rooms without changing the building’s footprint. That change, however, required the Township’s Board of Supervisors to issue a new approval. The consequences of that change also cascade into the 197-space parking lot it shares with the restaurant – a change compounded by the need to expand the room for tractor trailers making deliveries – reducing parking to 194 spaces. However, a needs analysis presented by the developer showed that the smaller number of spaces would still be adequate. As a result, the Board agreed to consider final action on the application at its October 5 meeting.
