[ARCHIVED] Is that hydrant waving at me?

fire hydrant with flag

The Township Sewer & Water Field Operations Division is using automatic flushing devices to improve the water quality in the water distribution system. After these devices are attached to a hydrant, the hydrant is turned full on. There is a timer inside which will open and close a valve to flush the water at set intervals.

Current Locations: Steeplechase Dr.; 22030 Rt. 19 (near Kenny Ross); Glen Rape Rd.: and Graham Park. The devices are on a timer and will flush hydrants on a schedule to improve water quality in the system. They will be in place until late October. The hydrants are still accessible in the event of a fire. If you have concerns, call 724-776-4806 x 1515.
