When the Township’s zoning ordinances for solar energy equipment were created, information was scarce.
With more residents and businesses using the sun as an energy source, the Board of Supervisors on June 1 adopted a revision to the Zoning Ordinance dealing with solar energy facilities as accessory uses.
Previously, the code specifically stated that no more than 50 percent of each roof area could be covered by a solar facility. The change instead stipulates installation must follow applicable adopted building codes based on international standards.
