Cranberry’s Transportation Impact Fee Program was a trendsetter when introduced several decades ago.
The program that compels developers to pay for their impact on the community’s infrastructure will go under review after the Board of Supervisors approved an update to the plan.
In December, the Board of Supervisors approved a contract with Herbert Rowland & Grubic Inc. to complete the first full update to the long-range transportation plan and impact fee program in 10 years.
At the March 7 meeting, the Board will consider re-establishing the Transportation Impact Fee Advisory Committee to oversee changes and improvements. Items to be considered include land use assumptions, roadway sufficiency analysis, and capital improvements.
A 2021 update to the program pertained only to revising the current projects list and associated project costs. The 2024 update will re-analyze the long-range transportation needs of the Township and consider rising construction costs and inflation as they pertain to future projects.
