Ten Cranberry neighborhoods will be included in a week-long trial program to encourage drivers in the Township's residential plans to adhere to the posted 25-miles per hour speed limit. Complaints from members of neighborhood homeowners associations about drivers exceeding the speed limit have been frequent, and Township help was requested. Therefore, starting July 25, according to Township Assistant Manager Duane McKee, ten of the Township's 100 neighborhoods will be involved in a trial period where different methods will be used to encourage drivers to slow down. The campaign's communication materials, prepared by the Nebraska-based nonprofit "Keep Kids Alive, Drive 25," will be posted and distributed in the selected plans along with mobile speed-reading trailers, traffic counter tubes, and increased police presence.
