The ten-screen Cranberry Mall movie theatre is looking to become a twelve-screen cinema, according to plans presented to Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors at a hearing on September 26. Owners of the theatre have applied for an expansion which would include the space in the lower Cranberry Mall space currently holding two vacant storefronts, just north of the current theatre building, along with some of the associated parking area. As a condition of their application, the theatre owners have agreed to finance a sidewalk and related pedestrian amenities along Freedom Road where it currently abuts the Mall. The Board will consider final action on the theater’s plans at its October 3 meeting. For more information, contact Community Development Director Ron Henshaw at ron.henshaw@cranberrytownship.org.
