A request from developer Dominic Gigliotti to amend its zoning map by expanding Cranberry’s Community Character District zone from an adjacent area to include his properties on the northwest side of the Rt. 19-Glen Eden Road intersection, will be considered for final approval by Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors on December 5. CCD zoning places the physical form of a construction project ahead of its intended use to achieve more efficient, pedestrian-oriented building patterns and making them more suitable for mixed uses. The CCD designation would overlay, but not override, the properties’ current Light Industrial zoning. The CCD approach to development regulation was initially adopted by Cranberry’s Board in February, 2008. It has since been expanded, with some modification, to high-traffic areas throughout the Township.
