An agreement between the Cranberry Public Library and the Township which provides desktop support, server administration, and network management for the Library’s 48 computers and 12 printers, as well as its network server, was approved at the Board of Supervisors’ January 30 meeting. The one year contract, which becomes effective February 1 and automatically renews each year thereafter, is essentially identical to one recently approved to support the Cranberry Emergency Medical Service. Prior to the library agreement, technical support was provided by the Butler County Federated Library System, which includes nine public libraries. Chronic IT staffing issues, however, limited the System’s ability to meet the needs of its two largest members – the Butler City and Cranberry libraries. The contract cost for the first year of the agreement is $18,480. For more information, contact IT Director Adam Osterrieder at adam.osterrieder@cranberrytownship.org.
