Cranberry Police Sgt. Dan Hahn will be leaving the Township’s police force on January 31 after a career of 32 years as a police officer, including 24 years with Cranberry Township. Sgt. Hahn sustained multiple serious injuries resulting from a 22-foot fall during a foot chase three years ago. A report by an independent Heart and Lung Benefits Eligibility Hearing Officer determined that Sgt. Hahn’s injuries were too severe for him to ever fully resume his work as a police officer. At its January 30 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors reluctantly adopted the report’s recommendation that Sgt. Hahn’s service with the police department come to an end.
