Sustainable Pittsburgh, an advocacy and consulting organization that promotes sustainable business practices in Southwestern Pennsylvania’s public and private sectors, has awarded Cranberry its gold level of certification in Sustainable Community Essentials. A series of underwriting messages on radio station WESA FM 90.5, which will run from February 17 through March 2, will recognize Cranberry’s accomplishment. The principles of sustainability, which include environment, economy, and equality, were endorsed by Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors in conjunction with its adoption of the Township’s 2009 comprehensive community plan.
