Advertisement of a bill which would limit the height and placement of new front yard fences where they could pose a safety hazard to motorists by limiting their ability to see approaching vehicles at corners, or interfere with sidewalk use, was debated and then deferred by Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors for further review at its February 26 meeting. Discussion will resume at the Board’s March 6 meeting. The proposed rules, which would exempt walls and fences constructed prior to the bill’s enactment, would have required a Township permit before they could be built. The rules would have also prohibited electrified and razor wire front yard fencing. For more information, contact Community Development Director Ron Henshaw at ron.henshaw@cranberrytownship.org.
