Township approval was requested at the March 27 meeting of Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors for a state LCB application by Cranberry Springs developer Gary Sippel to transfer a liquor license he had recently acquired from Zelienople Investment Corporation to an as yet unnamed restaurant in his development at Rt. 229 and I-79. That development includes the high profile Penguins/UPMC sports medicine facility, which received a building permit earlier this week. Three other elements of the project’s Phase One include restaurants and a hotel. Since no final land development has as yet been approved for those accommodations, the license is simply being transferred to the Cranberry Springs property.
