A draft agreement between Cranberry Township and the West View Water Authority, to be considered for final approval by Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors on May 1, would assure the Township of a steady supply of drinking water through 2038. Under terms of that agreement, which were explained at the Board’s April 24 meeting, the volume of water delivered to Cranberry could grow as the Township’s population and economy expands over the next 25 years, and its cost to Cranberry – West View’s single largest customer – would be even lower than the Authority’s most favorable pricing tier. At the same time, with the assurance of Cranberry’s continued business, West View confirms that it will carry out its own capital improvement plan which includes a new Ohio River water plant at Freedom, in Beaver County, as well as a new pipeline to deliver that water to Cranberry and other West View municipal customers in the area.
