A 25-year agreement between Cranberry Township and the West View Water Authority received final approval from Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors at its meeting on May 1. The agreement assures the Township of a steady drinking water supply through April 30, 2039. Under terms of that agreement, the volume of water delivered to Cranberry could grow as the Township’s population and economy expands over the next 25 years. Its cost to Cranberry – West View’s single largest customer – would be priced even lower than the Authority’s most favorable pricing tier. At the same time, with the assurance of Cranberry’s continued business, West View confirmed that it will carry out its own capital improvement plan which includes a new Ohio River water plant at Freedom, in Beaver County, as well as a new pipeline to deliver that water to Cranberry and other West View municipal customers in the area.
