Area students, fellow Rotarians and community members were recognized this week at the George Henderson "Service Above Self" Awards Dinner as hosted by the Cranberry Township Noon Rotary Club.
Vic Conrad, founder/owner of Pinnacle Financial Strategies and Cranberry Sunrise Rotarian, was named Business Leader of the Year; Curt Johns, Seneca Valley Middle School Dean of Students, was honored as Educator of the Year; Elexa White, Seneca Valley seventh grader, was honored as Community Servant of the Year; and Cassandra Bachik, Seneca Valley senior, was named Student of the Year. Miss Bachik was also recognized, along with fellow Seneca Valley seniors Jenna Stengel and Ben McConahy, as 2014 Rotary Scholarship winners. The 2014 Rotarian of the Year Award was presented to Jerome Savoroski by Denny Mason, the first Rotarian to receive the award when presented back in the early 1990s. Both gentlemen are past presidents of the club.
