Plans to extend the current Graham Park trail northward along Brush Creek to Powell Road are being pushed back to next year, Township Engineering Director Jason Kratsas explained to Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors at their June 24 meeting. The ten-foot wide trail, which is planned to become an important link in the Township’s emerging pedestrian access network, will first require a state joint environmental permit to cross an unnamed tributary to Brush Creek, then state archeological approval, and finally Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission approval for an access and flow easement. Cranberry hopes to have all of those permits in hand by early next year, which would allow construction to take place in June of 2015. Once built, the trail would link up with newly constructed sidewalks to the Woodbine Estates and Greenfields Estates neighborhoods.
