Work is progressing in the cleanup and restoration of utility lines and poles which went down during an intense wind storm Tuesday evening along a heavily-travelled stretch of Rt. 228 in Cranberry Township. Communication services which had been disrupted have now been restored. The roadway and its connections to I-79 are expected to be open to traffic in time for Friday morning rush hour. Businesses near the affected area in Cranberry Commons, Cranberry Crossroads, and Longtree Way remain open and accessible to traffic approaching from the east along 228.
