Owners of the Wendy’s at Cranberry Mall are planning to completely replace its current restaurant with a new 3,411 square foot version, which will also include a drive-thru window, on the same site. At its August 27 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors heard from design consultant Jeff Berneburg on the owner’s conditional use application to rebuild the facility. The new restaurant would include slightly more green space as well as improved traffic circulation on the site. The Board is expected to consider final action on the application at its September 4 meeting. The franchise owner has replaced a number of restaurants in the area with newer buildings during the past several years; the design of the Cranberry restaurant would be identical to the Wendy’s recently built on McKnight Road, in Ross. Start of the three-month “scrape and rebuild” project is anticipated for December or January.
