Owners of the Wendy’s at Cranberry Mall are planning to completely replace its current restaurant with a new 3,411 square foot version, which will also include a drive-thru window, on the same site. At its September 4 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors approved the franchise owner’s conditional use application to rebuild the facility. The new restaurant will include slightly more green space as well as improved traffic circulation on the site. The same owners have replaced a number of restaurants in the area with newer buildings during the past several years; the design of the Cranberry restaurant will be identical to the recently rebuilt Wendy’s on McKnight Road in Ross. Start of the three-month “scrape and rebuild” project is anticipated for December or January.
