The Cranberry Township Municipal Center will be one of the country’s first non-federal buildings to feature a new walk-up Social Security self-service kiosk, dubbed the Social Security Express Customer Service Station, expected to begin service by September 23. The web-enabled machine, located across the hall from the Township’s administrative office entrance, is designed to provide a range of informational and administrative services concerning an individual’s Social Security account while protecting the privacy and personal security of those using it. To access your information or conduct any transactions, you will first need to create a password-protected account. The touch-screen machine, which includes a camera, a printer, a scanner, a phone handset and a keyboard, can only be used to access the user’s own information; it cannot be used to access information about anyone else. To open an account, go to www.CranberryTownship.org/SocialSecurityExpress and complete the online application.
