An ambitious series of proposed improvements to the Cranberry Community Waterpark will be scaled back, at least for the time being. Contractor bids which were solicited in June for a package of mechanical, structural and recreational upgrades to the facility which first opened in 1997, came in above the $1.7 million budgeted for the project. As a result, the elements of work on the pool and its accessory spaces which will be completed before next year have been revised to bring the overall cost into line with available funds. At the Board’s September 23 meeting, a series of projects totaling $98,000 was proposed to be completed during the facility’s off-season. The remaining structural components of the pool’s renovation will be re-examined to determined how they can be value engineered to be installed more economically.
