[ARCHIVED] Is your child’s car seat installed right?

Cranberry’s EMS prefers to avoid taking young children to the hospital as the result of auto accidents. Yet, according to a nationwide survey, four out of five child safety seats are installed or used incorrectly. So on the afternoon of Friday, October 17, the agency is holding a free child safety seat check at its station adjacent to the Rt. 19 Park Fire Station. There, the Pennsylvania Traffic Injury Prevention Project together with the Cranberry Township Public Safety Department will provide certified car seat technicians to work with parents who come into the station between 1:00 and 4:00 PM along with their cars and car seats, to verify the child seat’s safety. Bring along the car seat’s factory instructions, along with the vehicle’s owners’ manual, if possible. Drop-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred. Call 724-776-4480 x1902 to schedule an appointment.
