At 1:00 on Wednesday, November 5, Township Manager Jerry Andree will lead a public tour of the plant, which is slated for a major upgrade over the next several years, and answer guests’ questions as part of his ongoing Coffee and Conversation series.
The plant currently processes an average of 3.2 million gallons of wastewater a day from Cranberry and Marshall Townships, consistent with its state permit requirements. However, in response to a more recent directive from Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection, an expansion in the plant’s treatment capacity and a change in its treatment process during major storms and snow melt events, will need to be made. A design for the upgrade was approved in April; bids for its construction are currently being solicited.
More information about the plant upgrade is available at www.CranberryTownship.org/PlantUpgrade.
No reservations are required for the tour, and there is no charge for attending. But for planning purposes, your call to 724-776-4806 x1103 in advance would be appreciated.
