If Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors approves the conditional use application of Jason’s Deli Restaurant, the building housing the former King’s Family Restaurant on an outparcel at Cranberry Mall will be razed and replaced by a new 5,245 square foot restaurant that includes a drive-thru window along with both indoor and outdoor seating. Jason’s Texas-based ownership group, which currently operates 240 restaurants nationwide, specializes in serving fresh food with premium natural ingredients. Its website claims that it was the first major U.S. restaurant group to ban artificial trans fats as well as high fructose corn syrup from its menu. The Cranberry site would be the company’s first venture in Pennsylvania. At its October 30 meeting, the Cranberry Board accepted testimony regarding the restaurant’s application and will consider final action at its November 6 meeting.
