There aren’t that many on-lot sewage disposal facilities around anymore. But Cranberry still has a few and state law requires communities that have them to appoint someone to make sure they meet the standards of the Pennsylvania Sewage Facilities act. So every year, the Township appoints a Sewage Enforcement Officer to analyze soils, examine facility design, perform inspections and issue permits for septic tank operation. At its December 4 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors appointed four employees of Daniel C. Baker Associates to provide the technical services required of enforcement officers. The officers are paid by septic system’s owners for work performed.
