Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors has approved the $3,000 sale of a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria police car to a Beaver County community. Marion Township Police Chief Rudy Harkins contacted the Township’s police department about buying Unit 463 to immediately put into service for his own police operations. The car had reached the limits of its useful life according to the Township’s vehicle replacement plan and had been slated for online auction in the spring. The vehicle, which originally cost $20,000, now has more than 130,000 miles on its odometer. The car carries a Kelley Blue Book value of $3,300 and a NADA.com value of $2,825.
