The newest member of Cranberry’s Fire Police – a unit of the Volunteer Fire Company devoted to directing traffic around and away from the scene of incidents – was sworn in at the meeting of Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors on February 26. Renee Bayer, an occupational therapist, will join 10 fellow fire police officers whose responsibilities include, in addition to protecting unsuspecting motorists from entering a danger zone resulting from a fire or wreck, protecting the volunteer firefighters responding to the incident. She and her husband both joined the fire company last year. For more information, contact Public Safety Director Jeff Schueler at jeff.schueler@cranberrytownship.org.
