[ARCHIVED] Kennel okayed for alternate Commerce Park location

The owner of a Camp Bow Wow kennel franchise, whose earlier application to locate in a unit of Commerce Park was approved in February, has received approval for an alternate location in the same business park most recently occupied by Peekaboo Playhouse Daycare. The new unit includes an outdoor grassy area which will be used to exercise the dogs. The kennel will be the fifth Camp Bow Wow in the Pittsburgh area. At the March 26 meeting of Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors, Jordan Murray, the owner of three other Camp Bow Wow franchises in the area, described the offerings which include both daycare and longer-term boarding services for dogs – referred to by the company as “Campers.” Facility features include indoor and outdoor play areas, large individual cabins, online Video Cams, and even a handful of luxury suites complete with windows and TVs. At a hearing on the owner’s earlier application for space in a different building, representatives of a custom compounding pharmacy immediately adjacent to that site expressed concerns about possible incompatibility of the two businesses.
