Nobody seems to want the old water treatment plant along Brush Creek at the corner of Robinhood Drive and Rochester Road. No purchase bids for the building were received during a solicitation earlier this year. At its April 2 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors formally adopted a motion to reject any further purchase bids and to authorize bidding for the building’s demolition. The structure, which was originally built to supply fresh water to Fernway – Cranberry’s first major housing plan – has been out of use for decades. Accordingly, Township staff recommended taking down the building but retaining ownership of the site for eventual improvements to the Rochester Road Corridor, possibly including the nearby Turnpike underpass.
