At its April 2 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors approved a renewal of the Township’s contract with Joseph J. Brunner, Inc. to haul away and properly dispose of the bio-solids, grit and other debris which has either been screened out of intake lines or removed from the tank bottoms of the Brush Creek wastewater treatment plant during a one-year period covered by the agreement. Brunner’s successful bid, for $150,500, was somewhat above initial estimates due to the increased volume of waste experienced in the past year as a result of growth in the service area. The waste which will be hauled away amounts to approximately 3,000 wet tons. The contact award was made after conducting reference checks following the March 11 bid opening.
