The design of Smiley Cookie Lane, the cheerfully-named serpentine road that will eventually link Park Place to Graham Park at the roundabout, has been somewhat modified from its original plan. At the June 4 meeting of Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors approved modifications requested by the project’s developer to narrow the width of the road’s travel lane and to build a sidewalk on one side rather than both sides of the street. According to the developer, the new design will have less impact on the surrounding environment due to the narrower paved area, allowing for wider planting strips and better growth of street trees. The changes were also said to be more consistent in character with the design of roads in Graham Park. The roadway’s novel name was purchased by Eat ‘n Park Restaurants as part of a CTCC charity auction several years ago.
