At the June 4 meeting of Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors, long-serving Cranberry Township Athletic Association President Anthony Storti thanked the Board and updated it on the activities of the 68 baseball, softball, tee-ball, and other teams playing in the Township under the Association’s direction. Approximately 1,100 players are registered with the Association. CTAA has partnered with the Township for many years in organizing and scheduling youth leagues, teen leagues and teams as well as women’s teams and co-ed adult teams, together with coaches, umpires, instructors, concession workers and coordinators drawn from its more than 140 adult volunteers. The Association, which uses playing fields in Cranberry’s parks for its summer and fall programs, helps to finance the construction and maintenance of those fields. In 2015, the organization’s operating budget is $390,000, primarily from registration fees, signs, and sponsorships. Every year, CTAA – which is a also a member of the international PONY Baseball organization and American Softball Association – provides the Board with a summary of the Association’s work.
