[ARCHIVED] Park Place plan revisions accelerate development

Several minor modifications to the Master Plan for CREDCO’s huge but slow-moving Park Place Community Character Development, approved by Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors at its June 23 meeting, are expected to hasten construction of the 195-acre project. The design of Smiley Cookie Lane, the cheerfully-named serpentine road that will eventually link Park Place to Graham Park at its roundabout, as well as the timeline for constructing a new right turn lane from Powell Road into Park Place, were modified from the developer’s original plan. Smiley Cookie Lane will now have a somewhat narrower width and a sidewalk on one side rather than both sides of the street. The Powell Road turning lane will be deferred until a later phase of the project. The changes are believed to make construction financing for Phase Two more readily available, allowing work to begin later this year.
