Public comments on the conditional use application for a 122-room four-story hotel on a 2.3 acre parcel between Wisconsin Avenue and I-79, behind the Rite Aid pharmacy, were accepted by Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors at its August 27 meeting. The proposed hotel, which would operate as Woodspring Suites, is a project of Value Place Hotels which operates over 100 affordably-priced extended stay hotels in more than 30 states. Developers agreed to make a $29,400 contribution toward improvements at the intersection of Wisconsin and Rt. 19 and have indicated that they would like to begin construction in October. Following the hearing, the Board agreed to consider action on the applicant’s request at its September 3 meeting. For more information, contact Community Development Director, Ron Henshaw
