[ARCHIVED] Remedy approved for misplaced townhomes in Park Place

The construction of new townhomes on Thornapple Lane in Park Place placed them too close to an adjacent alley, constricting the projected flow of traffic. The township didn’t discover the error until the homes were already under construction. So a Stop-Work order was issued until the developer could come up with a solution. Their solution, detailed in a consent agreement: rebuild and narrow the alley, making traffic flow on the road segment between two series of townhomes one-way. A separate issue, which also involved changes made without Township approval, resulted from moving units too close to the green space between the sidewalk and curb where trees normally go. There, the solution involved cutting out parts of the concrete sidewalk to install tree grates. At its February 4 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors agreed to approve the developer’s modified land development plan.
