The heavily-used Miracle League ballfield in Graham Park, which first opened for use in 2009, has been a huge success, but its textured field surface is susceptible to deterioration from weather. Replacing that surface and building a new, all-inclusive playground adjacent to its outfield was the CTCC 2015 Project of the Year. At the March 31 meeting of Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors, Parks & Recreation Director Pete Geis reported on the project’s progress and design highlights which include a replica pirates’ ship in the playground. At this time, $525,000 of the project’s $600,000 goal is in hand with a number of grant applications still outstanding. Work on the resurfacing and playground construction will take place between June and August with ribbon cutting expected in early September.
